Our solution approach for an enterprise-wide, holistic reporting and control system is based on No-SQL and in-memory cluster computing technology. Our “Big Data Analytics” platform includes the leading No-SQL Databenkank Cassandra and the leading in-memory cluster computing engine Spark and thus fulfills all technical requirements to process the data in the necessary detail, structure and quantity. The objective is to create a consistent database, a single point of truth, into which data from different departments and systems can be automatically loaded.

Our procedure

  • 1. conception

    In the first step, we record the requirements of the specialist departments and the decision-makers or support them in the creation of the reporting and control concept.

  • 2. process recording

    In the second step, the essential business processes are determined from the requirements and recorded and documented in the EM Process Management module. This gives you an overview of your digital value creation and enables you to understand which data is generated where and in which systems and departments for which business transactions.

  • 3. information design

    In the third step, we design the information design in the EM Data Management module. To standardize reporting, we build on our best practice templates. This significantly reduces the effort required for preparation and ensures comparability between different business units. Based on the information design, the corresponding tables are generated in the ,,Big Data Analytics” platform.

  • 4. ETL

    In the fourth step, we capture the ETL processes ( Extract, Transform, Load) in the EM-ETL module. As a result, the data is extracted from the various data silos of the departments or systems, processed and loaded into the Big Data database according to the information design.

  • 5. analytics & reporting

    The analyses and reports are set up as scripts and scheduled according to the ETL calendar. This means that computationally intensive analyses can be scheduled for off-peak times in order to optimize the utilization of your platform. We can draw on a variety of templates and best-practice solutions and customize them according to your requirements. The objective is to ensure that the right information is available to the department or decision-maker at the right time, in the right form, in the right detail, and at the right place.

  • 6. productive setting

    In the sixth step, we help you to bring the reporting into production, ensure the appropriate tests and documentation so that these meet the requirements of GoBs and can be used, for example, for annual financial statements.
